Verde Raises the Bar…

Nestled at the city end of “The Village” in Mt Eliza you will find a restaurant that has long been a favourite destination for both locals and weekenders.
Established in 2003 by local Chef and Restrateur Cameron Taylor, Verde is a modern restaurant offering a wide range of menu options from classical Italian pastas and risottos to great steak and fresh seafood, all prepared in a new and innovative style. With one of the largest specials boards on the peninsula, there is always something new to try.
“At Verde we pride ourselves on making everything we can in-house, including our home made ice-cream which is ‘to die for’” says Cameron. “And our Executive Chef, Jacqueline Connon, is about to launch her latest seasonal menu to capture the delights of fresh local Peninsula produce.”
Verde has a warm, welcoming atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor dining options and following extensive renovations Verde recently opened its new Wine and Tapas Lounge Bar to the delight of the locals who have been awaiting it’s opening with great anticipation.
The opening of the bar is a realization of a long held goal by Cameron to provide Mt Eliza with a relaxed, yet sophisticated “wine bar” where locals can come and order quality wines by the glass without having to “go out for dinner”.
“The local ladies have embraced the lounge atmosphere where they can nibble on tapas and sip on quality wines while catching up with friends” says Cameron. “Our regulars are also enjoying the opportunity to enjoy a pre-dinner drink or stopping by for a “night cap”.
The bar provides a relaxing “lounge” atmosphere where patrons can enjoy a fine selection of local and imported wines by the glass as well as Spanish style Tapas. Delicacies on offer can include fresh oysters with mouth watering toppings, Liguarian Olives with Chorizo, Warmed Brushcetta with Chevre and our ever popular Scallop tasting spoons to name just a few. The Tapas menu changes weekly following seasonal trends.
Open daily, the bar is a perfect spot for a glass of wine on the way home, a quick catch up with friends or a place for pre-dinner and post-dinner drinks in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
Verde is open 7 days a week for lunch, dinner and drinks. It is advisable to book, especially, in the evenings. Telephone 9787 0200.
Following the success of our themed dinners last season we have decided to arrange a number of excellent performances with live music, good food, wine and friends. Please see the Whats On At Verde page for more information.
